Né du désir de faire le pont entre deux communautés musicales francophone et anglophone, La Fête (Québec) et LAPS (Frédéricton, Montréal) se sont joints le temps d’un EP afin de célébrer la diversité émergente. Cet EP split est le symbole d’une collaboration respectueuse qui existe sans le métissage des langues. C’est une invitation sans complexe à se balader entre deux univers distincts qui se complète.
Pour mettre en lumière l’univers de La Fête et LAPS, Katerine Dennie Marcoux assistée d’Alexis Dionne, ont développé un jeu vidéo. En effet, avec le changement constant de l’industrie de la musique, l’univers virtuel propose un support alternatif aux pièces. Le concept renverse la vapeur et met la musique au premier plan. L’auditeur s’immerge dans l’univers des deux groupes. Il est appelé à déplacer les objets afin d’altérer les pièces du split dans un environnement psychédélique.
Born of a desire to bridge the gap between francophone and anglophone musical communities, La Fête (Québec) and LAPS (Fredericton, Montreal) joined together to celebrate emerging diversity. This EP split is the symbol of a respectful collaboration that exists without the crossbreeding of languages. It is an invitation without complex to walk between two distinct universes that are complete.
To highlight the universe of La Fête and LAPS, Katerine Dennie Marcoux assisted by Alexis Dionne, developed a video game. Indeed, with the constant change of the music industry, the virtual universe offers an alternative medium to the pieces. The concept reverses steam and puts music first. The listener immerses himself in the universe of the two groups. He is free to move the objects in order to alter the pieces of the split in a psychedelic environment.

Les paroles et voix osées, défaites, d’Antoine Provencher (Vague Station) s’effacent et se mélangent aux guitares de son homonyme non-fraternel, Simon Provencher (VICTIME), aux percussions déconstruites et haletantes de Samuel Gougoux (Portage) et aux basses folles et volatiles de Jean-Michel Letendre-Veilleux (Beat Sexü)
LAPS
LAPS filtre des motifs scintillants, haletants, post-presque-punks au travers de changements temporels et de mouvements constants. Le résultat est bleu-vert, beige; plans d'eau et rivages les entourant. Dramatiques ou latents, comme la mer peut l'être... affectés et affectée par les sous-courants, les remous perpétuels, les confluences, les étales et les renverses. LAPS a écrit et enregistré son premier EP au Nouveau-Brunswick, et l'a lancé en avril 2016.

Quebec City post punk quartet, weaves together spectrally dissonant guitar lines to create lost melodies. Taking the laid back approach, the rhythm section grooves forward at a tropical pace. Vocals dance over urgent notes. Casual meandering tones bubble with distortion. Group vocals hum as guitar notes fall and drift like dust in the wind. Beautiful, humble and secretly distructive music.
Bio LAPS
LAPS filter jangly post-punk motifs through unexpected time changes. Fronted by Heather Ogilvie (vocals/guitar), the group illustrates a thematic search for redemption through constant movement. Colouring the sonic landscapes of her compositions are pals Tate LeJeune (other guitar), Scott Cuzner (drums), and Cedric Noel (bass). The result is mostly blue-green and sandy tan… bodies of water and the shores that circle them. Dramatic or latent, as sea can be… affected by its surroundings, with perpetual undercurrents beneath.
